11) Beard

The trick to doing beards was patience and acetone, less so on the scissors (for me at least) and more so on my hand. I ended up picking latex spirit gum off my hand for the rest of the day. The trick was patience, but the time constraints made gave me a run for my money. The reason for patience is the gentle layering of the colors. I don't know what else to call it other than gentle. You had to be almost tentative, and acknowledge that every mistake made could be literally covered up with the next attachment. In that spirit, every new layer was better than the previous, and that carried through from the practice day to the final day.

In terms of trimming the beard, I found that using a hair trimmer was infinitely easier than the scissors, even if it was a bit sneaky, the product was fantastic, I thought. My only wish was that I'd found better colors to use for the brights, middles, and darks. There is only so much you can do with such clashing colors at the end of the day.
